Derreck DaSilva is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. He graduated magna cum laude from West Coast University and he is specifically interested in K-12 education curriculum policy, particularly in the context of civics education and community health. Prior to graduate school DaSilva worked at as nurse, fostering an interest in community health and its relation to primary and secondary education curriculum. He is currently taking an elective course in education policy, furthering a perspective into research analytics and the evolution of K-12 education policy in America.

DaSilva hopes to find a Policy Apprenticeship in DC with any private or public agency working on early learning and K-12 education policy.
