Golden, Leslie

2016 LBJ DC Fellow

Leslie Golden received her Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She is a cum laude graduate of St. Lawrence University with a degree in government and global studies. Leslie arrived at the LBJ School with significant prior public and private sector experience, serving most recently as a policy analyst at a Washington firm focused on research-intensive biopharmaceutical and medical device health care consulting. She also has worked in the state district office of a member of Congress, assisting with Social Security, disability, Medicare and Medicaid applications and appeals. From this experience, she developed a more sophisticated understanding of the difficulties many individuals experience when trying to access government health and related benefits. Leslie’s professional experience also includes positions with several municipal government entities, giving her insights into how national health care reforms affect local government processes and the importance of public-private partnerships in implementing policy.
She undertook her 2016 Policy Apprenticeship at the U.S. House Committee on Ways and Means, Health Subcommittee (Minority).
