After the priority deadline has passed, applications will continue to be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis until the final deadline pending program capacity.

Application Requirements
Undergraduate Students
Application requirements:
- Application form - complete all fields on application form, including your statement of purpose and resume
- Statement of purpose - uploaded as part of your application form
- Your statement of purpose should be 1 to 2 pages, single spaced and address the following prompts.
- What are your professional and academic goals?
- How will this program benefit your academic and professional development?
- What in your background do you believe has prepared you for this program?
- At what type of organization or government institution would you be interested in performing your internship should you be selected for the program?
- Please upload as a Word or PDF file and include your last name and EID in the file name in the following format: LastName-EID-statement
- Your statement of purpose should be 1 to 2 pages, single spaced and address the following prompts.
- Resume - uploaded as part of your application form
- Your resume should not exceed 2 pages (1 page is ideal) and include all relevant academic, professional, and volunteer experiences.
- Please upload as a Word or PDF file and include your last name and EID in the file name in the following format: LastName-EID-resume
- Letter of Recommendation - sent directly to the LBJ School via online submission form.
- We require one letter of recommendation as part of your application. The letter should come from an academic (i.e. professor, instructor, or teaching assistant) or professional (i.e. supervisor, mentor, or senior staff member) reference who can speak to your academic and/or professional background and preparation for this program.
- Applicants should provide the online submission form link to their recommender to submit a letter directly to the LBJ School of Public Affairs.
- If a recommender's name and email are provided on the application form, an email with the online submission form link will automatically be sent to the recommender. Applicants are encouraged to follow up with the recommender to ensure the link was received.
Graduate Students
Application requirements:
- Application form - complete all fields on the application form, including your cover letter and resume
- Cover letter - uploaded as part of your application form
- Your letter should be addressed to the Foreign Policy Semester in DC Selection Committee and include a summary of how your background has prepared you for this program, how this program will benefit your academic and professional development, and what internships (in broad terms) you are interested in pursuing.
- Please upload as a Word or PDF file and include your last name and EID in the file name in the following format: LastName-EID-letter
- Resume - uploaded as part of your application form
- Your resume should not exceed 2 pages and include all relevant academic, professional, and volunteer experiences.
