2020 LBJ DC Fellow

Madison Hamilton received her Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. As an undergraduate at The University of Texas at Austin, she majored in journalism and minored in gender studies. After graduation, she worked as a content strategist for large companies like Lyft and RetailMeNot, as well as at smaller advertising firms and nonprofits. Hamilton worked on public relations campaigns securing feature stories in both local and national media publications. After organizing two South by Southwest panels that explored diversity and inclusion within digital media, Hamilton helped produce “The Pronoun Project,” a platform that provides resources and urges brands to pledge to create ads, designs and experiences that better represent the full spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identity. She is interested in combining her communications background with her policy education to create content strategies that utilize data to reach target audiences in an ethical way.
