2023 DC Student Policy Apprenticeships

The eighth cohort of graduate students in the LBJ School of Public Affairs's unique and accelerated DC Concentration have begun their Policy Apprenticeships in Washington, DC.

While in DC, these Master of Public Affairs and Master of Global Policy Studies students take evening coursework as well as their required, simultaneous six-month (June–December 2023) Policy Apprenticeship at a public or private policy organization throughout the city, before graduating early in December 2023.

Brandon Bradley, MPAff-DC Candidate

Policy interests: Zero-emission electrification, incentivizing dense, transit-oriented development, regulating/leveraging emerging technologies

Jacob Burks, MGPS-DC Candidate

Policy interests: Economic security, transnational threats, diplomacy, emerging technology, and government efficiency

Policy Apprenticeship:  Center for Presidential Transition, Partnership for Public Service

 

Madelyn Lucas, MPAff-DC Candidate

Policy interests: Higher education for first-generation students, gender inequity, poverty, alternatives to higher education

Policy Apprenticeship: U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce (Democratic Staff) and Excelencia in Education
