2024 LBJ DC Fellow

Rittika Pandey is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts in government and a certificate in public policy. During that time, she was a Bill Archer Fellow and interned for the House Foreign Affairs Committee in Washington, DC, where she worked closely with the Asia-Pacific Subcommittee. This experience deepened her understanding of foreign affairs and international development.

Prior to LBJ, Pandey was the development manager for MOVE Texas. In addition to being the primary grant writer, her work at MOVE Texas centered on fighting for democracy and equity for disenfranchised Texans, community-based political advocacy, and providing access to educational resources. It was her work with MOVE Texas that solidified her passion for community organizing and grassroots movements.

Pandey is interested in social policy, with a particular focus on democracy, labor rights, and the power of social movements on policy making. She is currently working on-campus as a graduate assistant for the Center for Community Engagement. While in DC, she hopes to find a Policy Apprenticeship with a social policy think tank or research institute focused on increasing access to democracy in underserved communities globally.
