2025 LBJ DC Fellow

Sofia Odom is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She is a cum laude graduate in Political Science from Loyola University New Orleans.

While earning her degree, Odom was a Legislative & External Affairs intern with AT&T Louisiana’s state lobbying team and a Strategic Initiatives intern with the National Academy of Public Administration in Washington, DC. In addition, she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA at the George Washington Carver Museum in Austin, Texas, where she helped direct education and non-profit initiatives. In her senior year, she studied in Goa, India, for a month as part of a Global Ethics course.

Odom is interested in labor and regulatory policy, particularly in antitrust, corporate governance, and tax reform. At the LBJ School, she is helping coordinate the Latino Research Policy Symposium and is taking relevant coursework in Public Financial Management, Microeconomics, and Policy Communications.

Policy interests: Tax, budget, anti-trust, labor and corporate regulatory compliance.
