2020 LBJ DC Fellow

Rahma Sohail ireceived her Master of Global Policy Studies (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She majored in anthropology and sociology as an undergraduate at the Lahore University of Management Sciences. Her policy interests focus on international development, particularly in the areas of poverty alleviation and human rights. Prior to graduate school, Sohail worked at a nongovernmental organization, the Alif Laila Book Bus Society, managing a project focused on helping women from low-income backgrounds gain food security by teaching them how to make kitchen gardens in congested urban areas like Lahore, Pakistan. This further encouraged her interest in working in the development sector and helped narrow her focus to the field of poverty alleviation.
