Sean Mason is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. He graduated cum laude from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in communication studies and minor in general business. While earning his undergraduate degree, Mason served as the Sun Belt Conference student-athlete representative to the NCAA, where he advocated and worked with fellow representatives to improve the student-athlete experience. Following graduation, he was a fellow for the homeland security grants division within the Office of the Texas Governor and worked as an academic mentor to University of Texas student athletes. Most recently, Mason served as a legislative director in the Texas House of Representatives, building coalition between stakeholders to help achieve the representative’s legislative agenda.

Mason hopes to find a Policy Apprenticeship that will employ and enhance his skills to advocate and organize.
