2020 LBJ DC Fellow

Sean Mason received his Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. He graduated cum laude from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor of Science in communication studies and minor in general business. While earning his undergraduate degree, Mason served as the Sun Belt Conference student-athlete representative to the NCAA, where he advocated and worked with fellow representatives to improve the student-athlete experience. Following graduation, he was a fellow for the homeland security grants division within the Office of the Texas Governor and worked as an academic mentor to University of Texas student athletes. Mason also served as a legislative director in the Texas House of Representatives, building coalition between stakeholders to help achieve the representative’s legislative agenda.
