2019–20 LBJ Mentorship Program registration now open

We are excited to invite you to participate in the 2019–20 LBJ School Mentorship Program, which provides LBJ students with an opportunity to be coached by an alum who works in the industry or policy area in which the student has an interest.

Program details:

• The mentoring relationship will run August to May 31 so students will have a mentor throughout every stage of the academic year.
• Mentor/Mentee matches are made based on several factors including goals, geographic location and experience. After reviewing feedback about the 2018–19 program, and because we aim to make the best possible matches based on several criteria, we cannot guarantee that everyone will be matched.
• Match emails will go out in early August
• All participants will receive a training guide, which will provide communication best practices, tips for reviewing resumes and cover letters (students will receive policy-specific resume templates), and advice on how to get the most out of the program.
• The Graduate Public Affairs Council (GPAC) is working with OSAA and Alumni Relations to promote the benefits of the program in order to ensure student engagement.
• We ask both the mentor and mentee to commit to a minimum of two hours per month. It is up to both parties to decide what schedule and communication method works best for them.
