Justin Thompson

2018 LBJ DC Fellow

Justin Thompson received his Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. He is a summa cum laude graduate in public relations from the University of Alabama, with minors in general business and communication studies. After graduation, Justin joined Teach For America and served as a pre-calculus and algebra II teacher in Dallas while simultaneously earning a Master of Education degree from Southern Methodist University. While teaching, Justin discovered a deep interest in the intersections between education, policy, race, and class. As a member of Leadership for Educational Equity, he has been able to examine the practical implications of these issues through policy development, advocacy, and elected leadership.
