Lauren Juarez is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She majored in nonprofit management and leadership, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs with highest distinction from Indiana University.

Prior to graduate school, Juarez worked in marketing and communications at Catholic Charities Fort Worth. This experience deepened her interest in poverty alleviation and the systemic barriers hurting working-class families. In addition, she volunteered with Citizens’ Climate Lobby, furthering her interest in climate mitigation and the legislative process. Juarez is interested in climate and economic policy, particularly addressing race-based and class-based inequities.

Juarez hopes to find a Policy Apprenticeship in DC working with either an advocacy organization or a congressional office or committee.
