2025 LBJ DC Fellow
Mia Paone is a candidate for the Master of Public Affairs (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She is a Government and Sociology graduate with a minor in Business Public Policy and a Liberal Arts Honors Distinguished Scholar from The University of Texas at Austin.
While earning her degree, Paone took on various roles to explore her interests in government through internships on a Congressional campaign, at a Congressional District Office and working for a Member of Congress on Capitol Hill. Currently, she works for Millennium Strategies, a grant-writing consulting firm, assisting local governments in securing state and federal funds for municipal programs and projects. Through these experiences and her undergraduate courses, she was drawn to communications and corporate political strategy. Paone is interested in combining these interests and gaining further knowledge in the intersection of these fields within federal policymaking.
At the LBJ school, she is taking courses on communicating effectively in policy and learning how to quantitatively analyze complex policy issues. Paone hopes to find a Policy Apprenticeship in DC working on Capitol Hill or with a government relations organization.
