2025 LBJ DC Fellow
Sarah Gawron is a candidate for the Master of Global Policy Studies (DC Concentration) at the LBJ School. She graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Political Science and International Studies with a minor in Rhetoric and Writing Studies.
While earning her degree, Gawron interned in Washington, DC with a congressional office where she worked closely with the representative’s Defense Fellow on policy research related to foreign affairs, intelligence, and technology. This experience encouraged her interest in the intersection of intelligence and diplomacy. She was also heavily involved in the community during her undergraduate studies as she led a children’s literacy program serving Northwest Arkansas youth, overseeing and facilitating program operations and interacting with immigrant families worldwide. Her time with these families amplified the importance of diplomacy both domestically and internationally.
At the LBJ School, Gawron is a member of the Alexander Hamilton Society and is taking coursework geared toward her policy interests, specifically focusing on national security and diplomatic relations with Central and Eastern Europe. She hopes to find a Policy Apprenticeship in DC, working with a congressional committee, a personal office, or an international development organization.
