2020 LBJ DC Fellow

Sahand Yazdanyar received his Masters in Global Policy Studies (D.C. Concentration) at the LBJ School. He majored in political science and media & communication studies as an undergraduate at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). He is interested in U.S. foreign policy as it relates to the SWANA (Southwest Asia and North Africa) region. After his undergraduate studies, Yazdanyar worked with local and state politicians, tracking legislation, conducting research, drafting policy briefs and advocating on behalf of constituents. His experience volunteering in Greece with an international NGO focused on the refugee crisis reaffirmed his decision to pursue a career in foreign policy.
